New Patient Center

Going to a chiropractor’s office for the first time can be stressful, so we have decided to familiarize you with the process a bit, helping your first visit and your journey towards wellness go as smoothly as possible.

Below you will find our new patient form which we recommend you download and complete prior to arriving. You will further find details about what happens from the time you arrive until you leave our clinic, what to expect long-term, as well as details about our office hours and fee structure. And should you have any questions that we failed to answer, please call or email us at info@systemhealthspine.com for assistance.

What to Expect

Chiropractic care is like building a house – certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care…

1

Phase 1: Relief or Symptom Care

If you are suffering with pain when you visit our clinic, our first objective will be to help get your symptoms under control. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care 2-3 times per week for 2-4 weeks.

2

Phase 2: Corrective/ Rehabilitative Care

As we move into he corrective care phase, we begin addressing your spine and remodeling it back to its normal curvature. Depending on your specific condition, the need for coordination, strength and posture correction, this phase can take anywhere from 2 to 12 months.

3

Phase 3: Maintenance of Health

Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-2 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.

We request that you complete our patient form which can be located above. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. You can opt to do this beforehand by downloading the file and bringing it with you

Consultation &

Examination

You will begin with a consultation with our chiropractor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options.  Our goal is to to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can help you.

This will then be followed by a complete physical examination including standard neurological, orthopedic, postural and chiropractic specific tests.

Further Studies

Depending on your specific condition, we may refer you for extra testing including imaging such as X-rays.

Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, the chiropractor will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:

  • How can you help me?

  • How often do I need to come in?

  • What will my treatment cost?

  • Are there any risks involved with treatment?

Treatment Plan

Treatment may include manual or instrumental adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue muscle work.  Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.

The “At Home” Program

In the course of your core plan, the doctor will suggest that you incorporate activities and plans of action at home.   This may include ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and home exercises and/or stretches. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customised plan. The purpose of this is that you continue to heal between each treatment session.
